The staircase which was originally curved was modified by the designers and given a more linear structure. It’s now partially placed along the glass facade and the stairs are wider. This new form also allowed the living room to be better organized, creating more space for the dining table and chairs. At the same time, it opened up the room visually, putting an emphasis on the windows, the views and the light that enters the apartment.
The master bedroom area is tucked away in the loft area, which gives it a private but airy environment. Integrated storage and wardrobe areas, as well as a desk tucked away in the corner, make a functional and uncluttered bedroom space. The same wall treatment as the floor below covers the custom furniture and storage units.
Located in a historic building that has undergone a number of upgrades and renovations, Cometa stripped the space down to its bare bones and designed a custom apartment that features unique elements like the original brick walls and large windows. In fact, the tear-down created a long open space that has been visually divided into open-plan living that includes everything the owners might need.
