The staircase we mentioned is the link between the living room, main bedroom, kitchen and a second bedroom which was newly designed. This is a loft bedroom designed to actually be quite flexible. It could also serve as a storage room or as a guest room. It’s a cozy space with large windows and quite a bit of storage integrated into a raised platform on top of which was placed the bed. The decor up here is simple and the lack of big furniture pieces is a great plus.
Playing on the architecture of the space, the irregular cabinetry has quirky angles and uneven steps in the front, which keep the space original and fresh. The clash of angles fits the design, whereas traditional shelving would be clean and minimal, but rather boring. The large open window provides plenty of light for perusing books and highlights the natural brick ceiling.
The apartment is a loft with a total living area of 80 square metes. Its interior was redesigned in 2016 by Metaforma. It was transformed into a stylish bachelor pad with a decor that’s simple and full of character. The walls at the entrance was taken down and this way the apartment become more open and the usable space was maximized.
